The 52nd DPPI SEE Regional Meeting was successfully held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on 2–3 July 2026, bringing together representatives of DPPI SEE Member States, the Chair-in-Office, and the Secretariat to discuss key organizational matters and further strengthen regional cooperation in disaster risk management and civil protection.

The meeting marked an important milestone for the Initiative with the successful completion of the election process for the new Head of the DPPI SEE Secretariat. Following the presentation and interviews of the shortlisted candidates, the Member States elected Ms. Jovana Minić as the new Head of the DPPI SEE Secretariat. The election concluded a transparent and merit-based selection procedure carried out in accordance with the adopted Terms of Reference and the decisions of the DPPI SEE Member States.

The Regional Meeting also provided an opportunity to review the activities of the Secretariat since the previous meeting, discuss ongoing initiatives, and exchange views on future priorities for strengthening regional cooperation in disaster preparedness, prevention, and response. Representatives reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing collaboration, knowledge sharing, and joint efforts aimed at building more resilient societies across South Eastern Europe.

DPPI SEE extends its sincere appreciation to all Member States, the Chair-in-Office, the Selection Committee, and all candidates who participated in the selection process for their professionalism, dedication, and valuable contributions.
