As part of the DPPI SEE Disaster Management Training Programme (DMTP) 2025, the Workshop on Inclusive Preparedness for Disasters was held in Bucharest, Romania, from 20 to 22 October 2025, hosted by the Directorate General for Civil Protection of Romania in cooperation with DPPI SEE.
The workshop aimed to strengthen understanding and practical approaches to disability-inclusive disaster risk management across South-Eastern Europe. It brought together representatives from DPPI SEE Member States, international organizations, and experts committed to ensuring that disaster preparedness and response efforts are inclusive of persons with disabilities.
The programme featured presentations from the National Disability Council of Romania, the World Bank, UNDP.
Through this event, DPPI SEE reaffirmed its commitment to promoting inclusiveness and resilience as key principles of disaster risk reduction in the region.
